For 30 years, a unified group of dedicated individuals have been inspired in actualizing the work of Attitudinal Healing Connection (AHC) in Oakland. Our mission—to empower individuals to be self-aware and inspired through art, creativity and education— has moved and encouraged us to be in-tuned with the pulse, needs and nature of our community from a grass roots, global and universal context. For 2019, our theme—Motivate/Create/Heal: Unleashing the Power Within—sums up the essence of AHC’s work since our inception. Through the merging of two powerful modalities; Art and Attitudinal Healing; we’ve impacted lives by fostering opportunities to generate self-inquiry while elevating and utilizing creative, aesthetic expression.

Since 1989, AHC has served thousands of children, youth, families and individuals. While our emphasis has been local and rooted in Oakland, our work has been Bay Area-wide and global. AHC provides opportunities for art, leadership and community building through classes, workshops, trainings, trauma-informed healing circles, public art and events, with the mission of empowering individuals through arts, creativity and education.
